Life at Penobscot Lake Lodge
Sitting alone as a solitary outpost on a Northern mountain lake
about 60 miles northwest of Greenville, Maine and less than a
mile east of the Quebec Canadian border, our lodge and cottages
deliver a nature adventure at its finest in this remote and
beautiful part of "Vacationland". Rustic yet extremely
comfortable, the facilities have all the modern conveniences
inside and all of what makes Maine’s Northwoods special on the
other side of your door. The view from any of the lake-facing
windows is one that you will relish. You will never tire of the
ever-changing landscape. The Lodge’s front porch will become a
favorite place, as it has for many past and returning guests.

Our
cottages are well appointed with new furniture and modern
conveniences including running hot and cold water, choice of
showers or tubs and, of course, toilets. Each camp has a small
deck for porch sitting. That is a pastime you will cherish long
after you leave here.
Electricity is supplied through a state of the art solar
system. No noisy generator, no diesel fumes. Snuggle under an
extra blanket or quilt or turn on the gas heater in your cabin
for those cold, damp nights that occasionally occur this far
north even in summer. The cottages have either one twin and one
full size or a queen size bed. An open window and cool breeze
off the lake will surely help you rest well. Fluffy towels and
quality linens are supplied and replenished as required. |

Three
delicious meals are served in the main lodge in a communal,
friends-and-family setting. They should be considered part of
the sporting camp experience . . . no one goes away from the
table hungry. The fare is traditional hearty sporting camp food
and the menu varies. We use fresh locally grown vegetables in
season. We are as flexible as possible with meal choices. If
there are any special dietary needs we are happy to accommodate.
Hors d'oeuvres are served
at cocktail hour. We supply mixers and ice, but we don't
possess a liquor license, so we do ask that you bring your own
spirits. We always keep the cookie jar well stocked and we have
snacks on hand, but by all means feel free to bring your own
personal favorite snacks. |

Though
there are many active adventures to be enjoyed here, the owner
has developed a high level of expertise in the ways of
relaxation. We have a well-appointed main lodge with very
comfortable furniture, pool and poker tables, along with many
table games and an engaging library for your enjoyment.
